Shutter speed vs. ISO speed

Shutter speed vs. ISO speed

It’s a balancing act based on achieving the best balance for minimizing noise. Basic rule of thumb is that Joe has always shoots at the lowest setting possible, the ISO (to minimize noise) depending on working conditions.  If a tripod, it will shoot slow shutter speeds to minimize noise, because digital capture is not subject to the exposure or color balance of reciprocity problems that afflict traditional capture film.

long shutter speeds

Reciprocity refers to the inverse relationship between the intensity and duration of light that determines the correct exposure
the fi lm. During long exposures, fi lm reacts much more slowly than usual, and this affects both the color and light sensitivity
the fi lm. Therefore the color fi lm is “pushed” in the photo lab at high ISO settings than it was designed for some
This color change in a certain direction. The fi lm is lightsensitive the grain is affected by a number of light photons

Some films are sensitive to the failure of reciprocity and others less so. Some films are very sensitive to light at normal illumination levels normal exposure time and lose much of their sensitivity in long exposure times, and some fi lms with a low ISO rating

Basic exposure : Light and color

Basic exposure

Light is made up of all colors in the spectrum. We see the color in objects because as the light falls on the object, it is refl ected back to us and onto the camera’s sensor at the time of exposure. Objects are colored because they absorb different portions of the
spectrum. A piece of red paper is red because it refl ects red lighteven though the white light falling on it consists of red, green,
and blue. The green and blue are absorbed by the paper, leaving only red.

Metering devices measure light using two different methods:
refl ected or incident. Both techniques let us know the best exposure that averages the tonal range in the scene based on the
mid-tone being the standard 18 percent gray. In-camera meters take a refl ected light reading by measuring the light that is being
refl ected off the subject. It will not surprise you to learn that white or very light objects refl ect more light than do black or
dark objects. In the middle of summer in the desert, would you rather wear a white shirt or a black shirt to protect you from the
sun’s rays? Because black absorbs most of the light and converts it to heat, you’d do better with the white shirt, which refl ects
more of the light back into the air so you can stay cooler. If the scene being measured is average in terms of light values,
having no really large bright or dark areas, the camera meter’s

Light and colorjob is quite easy. If something in the scene refl ects lots of light—for example, from a snow-covered hill, the ocean and sand at
the beach, or a shiny metal object—the meter adjusts for this extra brightness and tells the camera to allow a smaller amount
of light onto the image sensor. In this situation, the typical photograph does not receive enough exposure, and the images turn
out darker than the original scene appeared to our eyes. On the other hand, should there be a large portion of the image with low
light values—the darkened stage with someone in spotlight, mountains in silhouette at sunset, eight groomsmen in black
tuxedos surrounding the bride for a formal wedding portrait—the meter adjusts for the darkness, sending more light to the
sensor, overexposing the photograph.

time of exposure
The good news is that today’s in-camera meters are very good at
sensing those extreme hot spots or dark areas. We also have the ability to instantly view our images on the digital camera’s LCD
screen and make adjustments on the spot. Remember, however, that in many documentary, sports, or photojournalistic situations,
even this instant image review isn’t quick enough—decisive moments come and go in split seconds and can’t be restaged.
More importantly, we have the histogram to view for precise exposure evaluation. Barry learned the hard way that the image
on the LCD screen can be misleading, and he’s now an ardent believer in using the histogram to check exposure accuracy.

Supermodel with High Paid

The term supermodel is more focused on the paid model, the top model, the model is very high, which usually has a worldwide reputation, excellent quality and often in a context of business models. The supermodel term became respectable in the popular culture of the 1990s. Models usually work for fashion designers, high-class photographer. They have a contract worth several million dollars for a fashion show once. The supermodel has called the agents themselves as household names around the world and recognition associated with their modeling career. They have been on the cover of magazines worldwide famous. To become a model must be in all the covers all over the world at the same time that people can recognize the children. The first introduction of a solid indication of supermodel status in the fashion industry.

A good photograph can be taken with Instamatic camera property or that everything is in the angle of the shot and pay attention to the background. Here are some tips to remember …..

1. Try to get to ground level with the model. Imagine that the height of the crew aboard the ship. This gives a more realistic picture.

2. Pay attention to the background. Try to make the background of the UN-occupied as possible. If something happens in the background, it distracts attention from the model to be photographed. Sometimes, that’s when you can shoot a wider angle for cutting down.

3. When shooting, you know where you are. Be aware of your surroundings when you are around the models, especially the public exhibition. If you’re busy getting perfect results, you may be a child or for worse in the middle of the model of a very detailed plans to launch. One guy became so trance with video recording of an event once he literally stumbled at the end of the dock.

4. models shooting. Always try to display a photograph of a model on a white background. A single sheet works well. Try pastel colors. If you use a white cloth to the hull looks great, but if your cabs are white, they wash in the background. Ditto for using a black cloth. The hull to blend into the background. Sometimes, I used the sofa covered with a sheet over it so that it covers the bottom and back and you have a place to sit on the model. Use a plain background, it is easier when you play with photo editor and paste your template in a photo background.

Infrared photography is very cool, a technique that has been done with film cameras for 100 years, literally. This can be done with a digital camera. First, you’ll spend about 10 minutes or more just to see the photos digital infrared photography. Your goal is to see other artists’ images were created. You try to find ideas, but also to understand the “see” infrared. Most beautiful, unique style also impressed by the presentation of the infrared effect itself. Good luck with the photographers.

PHOTOGRAPHIC VISION

How many times have you photographed the “picture perfect” stage, to be very disappointed when we see the final round? You just know that the original scene looked much better than your picture shows. What happened? Framing is the ability to watch a scene and determine whether it is a good candidate for a photo. This capability is extremely important for creating fine art landscapes. Some landscapes are inherently photogenic, but some are not.

Combining years of experience, books of compositional techniques, and extensive manipulation in the darkroom, even the best photographers can not squeeze some excellent photographs of scenes. However, your photos will improve by understanding the differences between the background and the scene is recorded on film. Your ability to see the current landscape as landscape photography will improve. In addition, you will be able to decide if a particular scene (even if it looks a lot while you’re there) will not be as impressive in the final photograph. More importantly, you’ll be able to exploit these differences to your advantage and transform a mediocre “real life” scene in a unique photographic image.

If you’ve used a digital camera, you’ve probably noticed that it has an adjustable ISO setting. So what does the ISO setting up camera, and how do you use to take pictures? ISO photography is for the International Organization for Standardization, a body that sets standards for a wide range of industries. For the photography industry, the ISO standard dictates how the camera manufacturers rate their sensitivity imaging sensors.

ISO digital equivalent to the old standard for film speed, so an image sensor with an ISO of 100 will have the same sensitivity to light as a 100 ASA film. A senior camera ISO means the sensor is more sensitive to light. Each doubling of the ISO number represents an increase of one stop light sensitivity. Most DSLR cameras have ISO settings ranging from 100 to 3200. Some of the latest generation of digital cameras can go even higher than ISO 3200.

The best image quality is generally achieved when you pull the camera setting lower ISO. As ISO goes higher, the noise level, sharpness, color and all begin to deteriorate. Most photos are taken using an ISO setting that is between 100 and 400. For things like photography low light or fast action, you’ll probably have to increase the ISO setting above 400. If you shoot at high ISOs, the noise in the image can become a problem. Digital noise is much like the grain you see in the film. To reduce noise in the final photo, people often treat the image with software noise reduction to smooth the image. The disadvantage of the use of noise reduction on an image is that you often lose the details later. It is a balancing act in managing noise while preserving detail.

imaging sensors are improving all the time. Today we can shoot ISO 800 and get the same quality image as a great camera at ISO 400. Even so, most photographers like to stay under ISO 400 whenever possible. This habit is hard to break and probably dates to the time when the film 400 film speed was the fastest speed currently available. To get the most out of your camera, you should experiment with high ISO settings to see how you can go before the degradation of the image significantly. You can then use this information to adjust the camera ISO setting depending on what you shoot.
